Our Carrara quarries
Calacatta Luccicoso
A rare Calacatta variety with a bright white ground and thin pearl-grey veins that reflect the light, hence the name ('luccicoso' means shimmering). A luminous, refined marble for light interiors.
A Fondone exclusive
Calacatta Luccicoso is quarried only in our quarries of the Fondone basin, above Forno di Massa. The useful benches are few and production is limited: this is why every lot is photographed slab by slab and offered first to the clients on the waiting list.
Why 'luccicoso'
The fine, well-oriented calcite crystals reflect grazing light: after polishing the surface has a sheen that quarrymen have always called 'luccicosa' (shimmering). The thin pearl-grey veins accompany the ground rather than breaking it.
Bookmatched
Consecutive slabs from the same block open like a book and draw symmetrical figures: a shower wall, a headboard wall or an island top becomes a unique piece. We send the numbered slab sequence and a layout proof before cutting.
Where it performs best
Bathrooms and spas, feature walls, tops and tables, boutiques and hotel lobbies. In light rooms it amplifies natural light; under artificial grazing light it shows all its sheen.

Suggested pairings
Calacatta Luccicoso + Bardiglio Imperiale
Wall or top in Calacatta Luccicoso with a Bardiglio Imperiale floor: the bright white stands out on the uniform blue-grey. Two materials from the same Fondone basin, so tone and grain are consistent.
