Buttermere is a fine-grained slate from the United Kingdom, prized for its subtle grey hue and delicate, parallel grain that lends a sophisticated, understated elegance to interiors and exteriors alike. The stone’s natural veining is subtle, providing a refined texture that works beautifully in both contemporary and traditional settings. Ideal for flooring, wall cladding, countertops, and outdoor paving, Buttermere performs well under heavy foot traffic and in damp conditions when properly sealed. Marmi di Carrara supplies this stone in ready-to-install slabs of 2–3 cm thickness, as well as custom-cut blocks, and provides high-resolution photographs of actual slabs before purchase to ensure transparency and confidence for architects, designers, and buyers.
