Crema Europa: complete guide
Overview
Crema Europa is a cream-coloured commercial marble with a light, uniform background. It is chosen when a bright, neutral stone is needed for large surfaces.
History and origin
It is an imported material found on the international market within the cream family, widely used for floors and cladding. Like most cream marbles, it is generally a compact, polishable limestone. The exact origin and characteristics should be checked on the available lot. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is light cream with soft clouding and occasional fine veins, sometimes with small darker specks. Variation between slabs is generally limited, but differences in tone between lots are possible. Polished, it is bright and reflective; honed, it has a softer, warmer look.
Uses
Suitable for floors, cladding, bathrooms and stairs, including commercial spaces with light traffic. It is not recommended as a kitchen worktop if you want a maintenance-free surface. For exteriors it should be considered only in mild climates and with non-polished finishes.
Care and maintenance
Clean with a neutral detergent and water; no vinegar or limescale removers. A stain-proofing treatment protects against coffee, wine and oil stains. The polish can be revived periodically.
