Black Slate is a premium metamorphic stone sourced from Brazil, celebrated for its deep, consistent black colour and fine-grained texture. As a natural slate, it offers excellent durability and a smooth surface that lends itself to both contemporary and traditional designs. Originally from Brazilian quarries, this stone features a uniform appearance with minimal veining, making it ideal for flooring, wall cladding, countertops, and outdoor applications. Suitable finishes include honed, flamed, or tumbled surfaces, depending on the desired aesthetic and slip resistance. Marmi di Carrara supplies Black Slate in blocks, slabs (2–3 cm), and custom cut-to-size pieces, with photos of actual slabs available before purchase.
