Mugla White: complete guide
Overview
Mugla White is a crystalline, bright Turkish white marble with faint grey veins. It is a versatile solution for those looking for a classic white with good availability.
History and origin
It comes from the province of Muğla in south-western Turkey, one of the country's most productive marble districts. The white marbles from this area are exported in large quantities for residential and hotel construction. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is white, sometimes slightly grey, with visible crystals and more or less pronounced grey veins. Between batches the tone can vary from pure white to greyish white. Polishing makes the surface glossy, honing warmer and more uniform.
Uses
Suitable for floors, cladding, bathrooms, stairs and thresholds. Thanks to its good availability it is also suitable for large supplies. For exteriors and kitchens, assess the finish and protection carefully.
Care and maintenance
Clean with neutral products, never with limescale removers or bleach. Treat with a stain-repellent impregnating sealer, especially in bathrooms and entrances. The polish can be restored with periodic professional treatment.
